Douglas Chiropractic & Physiotherapy Clinic – Endsleigh Lodge, Douglas Road, Cork City.
Loose fitting clothes are fine. We’ll ask you to perform a series of range of movement tests so it’s best not to feel too constricted!
Your physio consultation will take approximately 50 minutes.
Symptoms and conditions we treat regularly:
- Physical Injury
- Sports Injury
- Sprains and Strains
- Chronic Pain
- Arthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Bursitis
- Tendonitis
- Dislocations
- Fractures
- Muscle Tension
- Fatigue
The consultation will begin with a discussion of the condition’s history and a subjective assessment. We will ask you a series of questions that will help better understand your current situation, your expectations and your goals.
We will then proceed to a thorough physical assessment which can involve various physical tests, including the assessment of walking, posture, strength, range of movement and joint stiffness. We will observe as you do some basic movements in standing, sitting or lying and the integrity of all the relevant tissues will be evaluated.
After the initial physical examination, we’ll be able to put all the findings together to make a diagnosis, develop and discuss a treatment plan and guide you on the best way to overcome your injury or pain!

Cork Physio Massage
We provide Deep Tissue massage and Sports massage
Sports massage earns its name from targeting injuries that are specific to sports, whereas Deep Tissue Massage is a less specific term for a massage technique that more specifically focused on relieving chronic muscle tension, reducing pain and treating overuse injuries.
Whilst some of the strokes are the same as in classic massage, the pace tends to be slower and pressure is applied more strongly, concentrating on problem areas. Your physiotherapist may use their forearms, elbows, fingertips and knuckles as well as their hands in order to break-up adhesions, which are bands of rigid tissue that can cause inflammation and restrict movement and circulation in the muscles.
Deep tissue massage and sports massage work to realign the different layers of tissue, treating the tendons, ligaments and fascia (the protective layer of tissues which surrounds the bones, joints and muscles) as well as the muscles to release tension, provide pain relief and reduce the risk of physical injury.
